The Races of Nova Mir
The Etharim
The Etharim are the four races created by Ethestes, the Caeli-Arcanum of peace, prosperity, order and justice. These people were created in the name of harmony and have historically and modernly functioned best in structured societies. The Etharim are not inherently “good”, however they are aligned with creation and preservation.
The Etharim include:
- Novians: Humans with a unique regenerative compound in their blood called Erstatz, making them dangerously resilient. Although they have no natural ability to wield Sahan, Novians have risen to power through their adaptability, leadership and empathy.
- Oreylian: Winged skyfolk of the Elentharan Steppe, known for their artistry, exploration and storytelling. Their wings make them agile fighters and respected cultural stewards
- Erishka: Small forest-dwelling kin with a deep connection to nature and Sahana. The Erishka are natural enchanters and druids
- Reikai (Aurenai & Ruhkai): Shapeshifters from the highlands of Naiyu, they are split between two factions: the Order-bound Aurenai, and the wild, instinctual Ruhkai. Known best for their philosophies of balance and self-mastery.

The Hladari
The Hladari the three races created by Hladamor, the Caeli-Arcanum of death, disease, famine, chaos and fear. These races were created for power and independence. Both historically and modernly, they are isolated and resistant to the innate order and unity the Etharim preach of. The Hladari are not inherently “evil”, however they are aligned with force, power, entropy and transformation.
The Hladari include:
- Danhilians: Draconic wyverns of the Caer’dan mountains. They are capable of shifting from their natural wyvern form into human-like people. Known best for their raw power, elemental affinities and rigid meritocratic society, they are marked by their honor and pride.
- Renurians: Tall, dangerous descendants of the Black Coast, best known for their striking features and blood-drinking nature. Renurians are fierce, proud and value domination and strength.
- Miranese: Mystics of the ice-covered northern territory of Miran, bearing long hair as a symbol of power and wisdom. They are refined, elegant, and unmatched in practices like science, medicine and arcane warfare.
